"Chains Of Desire is a solo project of J. Thompson, also known as the member of Child Of Night, a darkwave unit from Ohio. Characterized with monotonous, but often danceable, synthesized beats and cold-as-steel echoing vocals, Chains Of Desire amalgamated synthpop and industrial to create decaying electronic music.

Upon hearing Chains Of Desire's unreleased tracks, Private Experiment knew that a physical format has to be materialized. 'Root Rot' is the result, an allegory of ecological disaster. Five tracks of dystopian synthpop, perfect for a walk inside an abandoned factory. An epileptic dance on top of a gigantic chimney is also strongly advocated."
